Hello Welcome to My Blog

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post for ISYS1166 Document Management 1 semester 1 2014.

I would like to welcome my other group members; Nouf, Kate, Susanne and Luisa and look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences through this blog.

I am quite new to blogging as I have never had a blog myself before, although I have previously viewed some blogs online. As a result I think one of my main goals for this project would be to become acquainted with the tools available and add some of them to my blog as well as gain experience in the use of these tools.

After some issues creating a blog during the tutorial on Tuesday afternoon, I was later able to successfully create one after the tutorial. Today, I have been setting up my blog and having a look at the different features and tools that I can incorporate into it, such as the layout and template as well as exploring the different available gadgets.

Some of the gadgets that I have added to my blog so far include; ‘Total Pageviews’, ‘Popular Posts’, ‘Pages’, ‘About Me’ and ‘Blog Archive’.

Throughout this blog I will be sharing links, blogs and news articles that I find relevant to the topics that we learn about throughout this subject. I intend to do this through adding the ‘Blog List’, ‘Link List’ and ‘Newsreel’ gadgets which will allow me to share this information in an organised and easy to access way.

Goals:

1. To become more familiar with a range of social media and web 2.0 tools.

2. Increase my knowledge on the tools that are available.

3. Challenging and pushing myself to use technologies that I usually would not use or feel comfortable using (Take myself out of my comfort zone).

As I progress and gain more experience I intend to look at some of the other gadgets that are available and incorporate them into my blog as required.

    I hope you don't mind me 'following you' even though we are not in the same buddy group let alone tutorial, as a 1st time blogger this is all new to me and I guess this is a way for me to communicate and network with people I have met in the 1st daunting week!

    Dear Lisette,
    I'm pretty sure that we're all quite new to blogging, but that's cool in a way because we can help each other learn and share information as well. I didn't notice the Newsreel gadget and it looks pretty good too, so I'll see if I have time to experiment with it soon.
