Hi Guys!
So, this week I have been looking for some online tools that
I did not know about in order to increase my knowledge on the type of tools
that exist and what they can be used for. Some of the tools that I found to be
quite interesting I have discussed further below.
As I am an avid reader and spend all my spare time doing so,
I found a tool called aNobii, which enables you to create your own virtual
library through scanning the barcode on books and then find and share books
online and discuss them within the community. You can find books that you never
knew existed and create a wish list. Also, the site also allows you to read
reviews of books so that you can find some that you might be interested in
reading. The home page is shown below:
Another tool that I found interesting was StumbleUpon, in
this tool there is a collection of websites and by entering your interests the
tool recommends websites, photos and videos that suit your interests. I thought
this was a good tool as I am always looking for new sites that coinciding with
my interests and sometimes when I search for them myself I don’t always find
what I am looking for.
Through my exploring of tools, I am now beginning to become
more familiar with the technologies that are available. If anyone is interested
in exploring the tools I have discussed above, I have added their sites to the
pages section on the right-hand side of the page.
BLOG REORGANISATION
Also, I have been playing around with my blog and
reorganising it. I have removed the ‘About Me’ gadget as I was probably not
going to add any information about myself in that gadget anyway. I have also
added a few websites as pages as I mentioned above, it took me a little while
to find out how to add them as pages, however, eventually I was able to. I have
also moved around the order of my gadgets on the right of the page in order to
make it a bit more user friendly and neater as well.
So I am now continuing to
become more familiar with the blogger gadgets and the functions that I can
include on my blog.

Hi Lisettw
ReplyDeleteYour blogg is looking very good and organised, I am very impressed..
I like the sound of the tools you have found, especially aNobii. I was in a book club in Geelong but think I may need to let it go now that I have moved to Lalor, but that is maybe a tool I could use with the group- thanks for sharing
