Hi again everyone!
So first of all, looking at Twitter and Yammer, two of the
tools that I am using as part of this course. I have found from my short
experience so far that Twitter is more of a social tool where users tend to
communicate about social topics more often than anything else and mostly in an
informal way. On the other hand, it seems that Yammer has been used more for
discussing work for university or problems that the users are having with
different systems, etc. for university. I have been part of a private
communication via Yammer concerning access to a particular system for another
subject. I will continue to report on my Twitter and Yammer experiences as I
progress.
I had a look through different websites to find examples of organisations
that use Twitter or Yammer in order to assist their clientele.
One example that I found was H&R Block who use their
Twitter account to hold Question and Answer sessions for their clients who can
ask questions if they are having issues with their tax returns.
Another example that I found was the State Library of
Victoria, who use their Twitter account to let their clients know about events
that are coming up.
From these examples you can see that there are many
different ways in which organisations can use Twitter to help their clients. As
a result I feel that the relationship between organisations and their customers
is a closer one as they can communicate with each other more effectively. I
think that this increases the amount of customer loyalty that clients feel
towards these organisations as well.
I have included the links to these two Twitter accounts in
the ‘Interesting Links’ on the right side.
